One of the high streets most coveted everyday essentials store Weekday team up for a second time with iconic sportswear brand Champion to create a capsule collection for Spring/Summer 2017.
The Collaboration
Following the success of their previous collaboration, it was inevitable that the two brands would come together again. Fusing the contemporary everyday basics by Weekday, along with sportswear aesthetic and detailing from Champion, this collaborative combination works seamlessly.
The two powerhouses join forces to create a minimalist athleisure aesthetic, founded on the same boxy, unisex shapes seen in their 2016 collaboration. Champion’s timeless athletic wear, complemented by Weekday’s modern minimalism, combine to create a streetwise take on leisure style.
The Collection
The collection consists of elevated everyday basics in cool core tones and vibrant red and a pastel lilac/pink shade. Within the collection there are cropped boxy hoodies, oversized sweatshirts, longline hoodies, and basic tees, shorts and track pants. Alongside the apparel there is also a pair of white socks that feature red stripes, reminiscent of retro sport.
Weekday’s minimalist style blends fluidly with Champion’s classic take on sportswear. A nod to the late Eighties is apparent in the oversized shapes, drop shoulders, and nude, washed out palette with pops of true red. The collection is for a second time unisex, tapping into the market of genderless clothing, a direct appeal to millennial consumers.
When will the collaboration be available to buy?
The collaboration will be on sale from June 1st online at Weekday.
